Minister Gebran Bassil editorial at the Lebanese Diaspora Energy (LDE 2016) booklet

Dear Friends of Lebanon
Dear Descendants of Lebanese Emigrants,
Dear Lebanese
Dear Participants in the Third Lebanese Diaspora Energy Conference

I extend a hearty welcome to you all in this celebration of Lebanon, the identity of our nation and the successes of our people. Since its first edition, LDE has become a yearly gathering that offers us a unique bonding moment, building on our heritage and looking forward towards the bright future of our Lebanese community. LDE is designed to bring to the forefront the twinkling stars of our country and to shed the light on their achievements all over the planet. It is with pride that we bring together eminent Lebanese having left their imprint wherever they landed while never losing the culture, the heritage and the roots. LDE is also structured to serve as a platform that reunites Lebanese entrepreneurial minds within a global vision aiming at reinforcing Lebanon’s role internationally. This year’s conference will focus on specific countries with substantial development potentials. It is for us an opportunity to merge our efforts with a view to access emerging markets. LDE is furthermore a rallying moment under the banner of our Lebanity. It is the time where we share our message, where we carry our hopes and where we set our common objectives. I believe that your energy is essential to Lebanon. I believe that Lebanon is our source of energy. I believe that both Lebanon and your energy are key assets for the future.

Gebran Bassil
Minister of Foreign affairs and Emigrants.
