Finding my Lebanon film:Tell your story, support the film, spread the word.

Finding my Lebanon short film:
Tell your story, support the film, spread the word, share the video…

We are reaching out to you so we can complete our film: the crowd, our friends, overseas Lebanese and anyone who has left their home in search of another. Together we need to raise $25,000 for editing and distribution, and also to keep us focused on this project.
Mark abou zeid

“I am not a rich man and nobody involved in this project is. We’ve done everything we could; we invested all our resources because we wanted to believe in the film ourselves before anybody else did.  So far we have been lucky to have the support of a few people, but in order to finish this first piece we need help. ” Mark Abouzeid

We want to use crowd funding for what it really is supposed to be; not just another way to get money, but to involve other people in our project.

There is no hierarchy to helping. Whatever way you can help is greatly appreciated. If you don’t have money but you have a story, tell us your story; if you know a Lebanese community, put us in contact with them; if you’re working in documentaries, film, associations, heritage, let’s talk.  Let’s create awareness: write an article or a review, tell somebody, introduce us to someone we should talk to.

Where will the film be seen?

The film will first be aimed at film festivals internationally. After that it’s hoped that it will have a life on the web and later on television in the US, Europe and elsewhere.

We have made a  commitment to work with Overseas Lebanese Cultural Associations to reach out to the primary audience for this film.

We’ll also use a number of social media platforms to get the film out there in as many different versions and languages as we can.

In Lebanon, Mark has plans to premiere the film in Rayak’s old abandoned theater and tour the documentary around the countryside and show it to people in villages and towns.

What will your contributions enable us to do?

  • Continue editing the film.
  • When the edit is completed the film needs to be color corrected and the sound mixed and sweetened.
  • Apply to Film festivals and cultural fairs.
  • Travel to screening locations and events by Cultural Associations.
