Dear Maria
We are a cultural (non-religious and non-political) community non-profit organization with the goals of helping immigrants from Lebanon adjust to their new country, and introduce Canadians to Lebanese culture (food, music, dance, etc). Our regular activities include (but not limited to):
1) Providing the Lebanese-Canadian community with any information they need about life in Canada
2) Oral and written translations if needed
3) Connections to dentists, doctors, lawyers, notary publics, accountants, government offices, etc. who may speak a language they understand (French or Lebanese Arabic)
4) Arabic language lessons for children on weekly basis
5) We have activities on an ongoing basis to encourage the community to participate in Canadian events: Canada day, sun run, terry fox run, municipal activities, etc. We also frequently organize our own cultural events.
6) We have a partnership with Canadian blood services
7) We work with our youth to edit and publish a newsletter and website covering community news, activities, etc.
8) We network Lebanese presence from our province to all Canada and worldwide.
