His Excellency Mr Gibran Bassil, Lebanese Minister of Foreign Affairs visiting Vancouver on 9 and 10 june 2015

Dear community members,

This is turning out to be a very exciting upcoming week. In addition to the unveiling of the benches on Sunday June 7 (please don’t forget to RSVP if you haven’t done so already) but we are expecting a very important visitor.

It is with great pleasure that I inform you of an impromptu visit to Vancouver from the Lebanese Minister of Foreign Affairs. This is a very privileged visit as he has chosen Vancouver as opposed to other Western Canadian cities.

His Excellency Mr Gibran Bassil will be arriving in Vancouver the evening of Tuesday June 9th, 2015 and is very interested in meeting with the Lebanese community.

It would be a great show of support if you are able to come for a quick meet and greet with the minister. He should be at the Executive Inn hotel in Coquitlam between 10:30pm-11pm (depending on traffic).

At this point, the itinerary for the following day, Wednesday June 10th, 2015, includes an early morning visit to the Gibran monument at SFU, as well as a midday visit to Queen Elizabeth Park to view the Cedar tree and benches. We will be organizing a lunch at Seasons in the Park (at your personal expense) prior to heading back to the airport.

Please reply back at [email protected] by Friday June 5th, 2015 to confirm what you are interested in attending:
-Evening meet & greet
-Visit to SFU Gibran monument
-Visit to Queen Elizabeth Park tree/benches
-Lunch at Seasons in the park at your own expense  (#attendees)

You can attend any or all if you are available!

Looking forward to hearing back from you very soon.
