Dear Friends and colleagues,
We sadly report the death of Mr. Antoine Ghayad one week ago a member of the Lebanese Cultural Union in Mexico.
Mr. Ghayad served on the National Council of WLCU Mexico for more than 30 years. He has been Secretary and Treasurer of the Board. In 1985, he joined the Lebanese Mexican Committee for the salvation of Lebanon, giving an unprecedented boost to the movement and, he was a permanent member of the Community Associations becoming the liaison between the WLCU and all its affiliates in the country.
Moreover, Mr. Ghayad was the President of the Maronite Union in Mexico between 1989 and 1993. Since 1993 he organized every year the annual Lebanese Festival at the Lebanese Center in Mexico City.
During the celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the WLCU in 2009 Antoine Ghayad was a dynamic member of the Executive Committee that organized the event in Mexico City.
Antoine has been a mainstay in our institution and, he has been an example of work, humility, generosity, loyalty, spirituality and especially friendship.
Antoine rest in peace and God rest your soul!
