In a joint project between the LCS of BC (Presided by Georges Rouhana) and the CLCA (Victoria, Presided by Murr Murr), with the coordination of the WLCU-BC Council (Presided by Henry Zarifeh), the erection of 2 dedicated benches in Queen Elizabeth park will be a reality in the near future.
After assessment of the application send last year The Vancouver Park Board approved our project, but not at the requested site.
Mr Henri Zarifeh and Jamalle Zarifeh attended a meeting at the Vancouver park and board office, and discussed with Ms Josie Riebe, Manager of Fundraising and Development, the location wanted by the Lebanese community.
We are proud to inform you that our proposed location was accepted, the 2 benches will sit at the location that is perpendicular to the slope so the benches would sit level. They will be placed to face the Cedar of Lebanon.
More details to follow next year 2013.
