Mr Chakib Rammal the president of WLCU African Regional Council, sadly announced the death of Mr Assad Chagoury, Consul of Lebanon in Benin who was killed on the evening of Wednesday, july 30,near capital Lome.
Assad Chagoury, Consul of Lebanon in Benin and businessman was killed on the evening of Wednesday, july 30, by thugs during an ambush occurred an Avekpodzo, a Togolese village near the capital Lome. 
The thugs to shoot him at close range in traffic lights before disappearing. Mr Chagoury, is also the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company “La Roche”, specializing in the sale of construction materials in Benin and in some countries of the sub region. This is a big loss for the Lebanese community in Benin.
The WLCU Regional Council in Africa presents its sincere condolences to the Family Chagoury and to all Lebanese.
