Dr. Salem Book “Cancer, Love and the Politics of Hope”
The esteemed Dr. Philip Salem at Barnes & Noble at his book-signing event
The event marks the publication of the book “Cancer, Love and the Politics of Hope.” This book offers a selection of Dr. Salem’s speeches, interviews and editorials, published together for the first time, with the proceeds benefiting the Philip Salem Foundation. The free event was also open to the public.
As a clinician and a humanitarian, Salem offers the reader his advice and insight on health care, medicine, cancer, life and death. Dr. Salem has 46 years of experience in cancer medicine and research. This is the first time a selection of his speeches, interviews and editorials, spanning almost 20 years, have been published together. The book is authored by Frances Mourani and Boutros Indari. All proceeds from book sales will go to the Philip Salem Foundation.
Dr. Philip A. Salem began specialty training in cancer medicine at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York in 1968, after which he joined M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. Recently, St. Luke’s announced the Philip A. Salem, M.D. Chair in Cancer Research.
