As the world is confronted today with renewed communitarian tensions
and cultural and religious persecutions, and as the racist and anti-Semitic acts
on the rise, what is the role of civil society forces in Europe and the Arab world
in the fight against the threat of violent extremism to our societies?
How can we, together, fight this scourge through culture, education, dialogue,
the media,…?

Launched under the patronage of UNESCO in March 2009, the Aladdin Project seeks
to promote intercultural understanding, particularly between Jews and Muslims, based
on mutual knowledge, education and respect for History, rejection of conflicts of memory,
and the primacy of dialogue and search for peace over the culture of confrontation and
war.
