Dear members of the World Lebanese Cultural Union, especially our host this week, the WLCU California State Council Chapters. It is a great pleasure to share with you this important occasion as we unveil the sculpture of Gibran at the Los Angeles Central Library.

Today, Lebanon is passing through one of the most difficult time of its contemporary history, in a convolutional Middle East that is suffering ethnic and religious divisions without a President and suffering the burden of the refugees crisis that has left the country in a serious economic and social situation.

Today the Lebanese emigration all around the world has to be more united and active to watch over Lebanon and the Lebanese and help our motherland recover the splendor of its best years.

For these reasons, I congratulate all the members of the World Lebanese Cultural Union in Los Angeles, for playing this cultural role that we desperately need, bringing the name of Lebanon to the highest platforms in the world.
