Visit to Minister of Telecommunication Mr Nicolas Sehnaoui:
- On Behalf of the WLCU British Columbia council and the Centro Libanes, Dr Kahwaji and Mr Farid Makarem presented the Emigrant Bronze statue to minister Sehnaoui.as a token of appreciation for issuing the Lebanese emigrant stamp.
- On Behalf of the International Lebanese Titanic committee, We presented an application for a stamp to commemorate the 125 Lebanese who perished in the titanic.
Visit to minister of culture Mr Gaby Layoun
- On behalf of WLCU-BC Council we presented an application to receive a collection of Books is Arabic languages (we receive it and shipped already)
- We presented a proposal to nominate the RAYAK station of train a heritage site in a way to make it a Museum (project sponsored by BC and the NGO in Lebanon “ Train train “ presided by Elias Maalouf).
Visit to Lebanese Emigration Research Centre
On Behalf of the Centro Libanes Dr Kahwaji presented Dr Guita Hourani the centro Libanes 50 anniversary stamp issued by Mexican government.
Major ativities for the coming year in BC
Dedication of 2 Lebanese benches in Queen Elizabeth park for 2 past president one from Vancouver and one from Victoria.
