On the occasion of the historical visit to West Canada of his Beatitude Patriarch Bechara Rahi , the WLCU-BC Council received an invitation to attend the celebration in Edmonton on 9 and 10 may 2012.
Dr Nick and Mrs Pascale Kahwaji represented the Lebanese community of British Columbia and attended the celebration along with Mr and Mrs Joe Rustom (the Head of our WLCU branch in Edmonton).
A symbolic present was given to Patriarch represented an “INUKSHUK “ in fine glass. Signed by the President of the WLCU-BCC Mr Henri Zarifeh and the Secretary of the Council Mrs Graziella Maakar.
During his speech Dr Kahwaji declare : (In the name of the Lebanese community in BC, we proudly came with “Love “ to declare that we are an integral part of the “communion”.
our policy in BC to always be “ crystal clear” like this symbolic present that with all modesty we are offering it to sayedna).
The Patriarch inquires about the Lebanese community in BC and promised to visit us one day.
Dr Kahwaji had a private meeting with the Patriarch, where a varieties of issues was discussed related to the Diaspora and the displaced peoples from east of Saida and Jezzine area
